Our Story

At Emerald K9, we believe that every dog deserves a safe, loving space to thrive, and every owner deserves peace of mind knowing their furry friend is in good hands. Our journey began in 2020, during a time when the world was facing challenges that deeply affected us all—including our dogs.

As a lifelong dog lover, I found myself struggling when my own dogs, Athena and Dakota, started reacting intensely to the world around them after the COVID-19 lockdown. Their sudden reactivity opened my eyes to the complex emotions and behaviors dogs experience. Determined to help them, I embarked on a journey to better understand their needs and create an environment where dogs could feel secure, supported, and happy.

Through extensive research into canine behavior and completing courses at Canine Foundations, I gained invaluable insights into managing and supporting dogs with diverse needs. I also completed a hands-on apprenticeship where I developed practical skills such as teaching dogs to enjoy their crate, walk politely, stay calm on a place bed, and adapt to nail trims or muzzles when needed.

Today, Emerald K9 offers premium daycare and boarding services designed to make your dog feel right at home. Whether it’s a day of play or an extended stay, we provide personalized care, enrichment, and attention to ensure every dog is safe, comfortable, and happy.

Our mission is simple: to create a place where dogs and their families can feel at ease. From cozy spaces for resting to supervised playtime with friends, we’re here to make every visit a tail-wagging success.
