🐾 What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 6:00 AM - 10:30 PM Monday to Sunday for both daycare and boarding drop-offs and pick-ups.
🐾 Do I need to book an appointment, or can I walk in?
Emerald K9 is an appointment-only facility. Walk-ins are not accepted, and all daycare and boarding reservations must be scheduled in advance to ensure the best care for each dog.
🐾 Do you accept all breeds and temperaments?
Yes! We welcome all dogs, including those with reactivity or dog aggression, thanks to our small 5-to-1 dog-to-trainer ratio that allows for individualized care.
🐾 Can my dog be in a playgroup, or do they have to be alone?
We tailor the experience based on each dog’s needs. Dogs who enjoy socializing will be placed in compatible playgroups, while those who prefer individual activities will get structured one-on-one playtime with staff.
🐾 What’s included in boarding?
Boarding includes full participation in our daycare program, personalized feeding, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and enrichment activities.
🐾 Can I bring my dog’s favorite blanket or toy?
Yes! Bringing a familiar item can help your dog feel more at home during their stay. Bringing their bed can also help them settle in.
🐾 How do I book a daycare or boarding reservation?
Contact us directly with dates you'll be needing care for your pup to secure your dog’s spot. Here's a rough outline of our booking process:
Request Your Dates: Reach out with your desired dates and approximate drop-off/pick-up times.
New Clients: I’ll send a form to gather information about your dog. We can also set up a meet and greet at this time.
🐾 Do you offer discounts for extended boarding stays?
Yes! We offer discounts on stays of 10+ nights. Contact us for details.
🐾 Where are you located?
We are located at 537 River Road in Cambridge, Ontario.
🐾 What vaccinations are required for my dog to attend?
All dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof of vaccination is required before attending.
🐾 What is included in daycare?
Our all-inclusive daycare means you won’t pay extra for:

Structured play with dogs and staff.
🐾 What should I bring for daycare?

Pre-measured meals (if applicable).

Any medications with instructions.
🐾 Will my dog be crated at night?
Dogs will have individual sleeping spaces with soft bedding. If your dog is crate-trained and prefers a crate, we can accommodate that request
🐾 How do pick-ups and drop-offs work for boarding?
Drop-offs and pick-ups can happen anytime between 6:00 AM - 10:30 PM to fit your schedule. Let us know what time you'll be coming by to drop off or pick up your pup and we'll meet you at your car.
🐾 What is your cancellation policy?
Boarding

A 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking—this is non-refundable as it secures your spot.

The remaining 80% is due 7 days before drop-off.

Cancellations within 7 days of drop-off: No refund, but you’ll receive a credit for a future booking.

Cancellations within 48 hours of drop-off: No refund or credit.
Daycare

If Emerald K9 needs to cancel a daycare booking due to inclement weather or an emergency, you will receive 2 free daycare passes as compensation.
We understand that plans can change, so if you need to adjust your booking, please reach out as soon as possible!
